Impact Design Summit: The Practice of Impact Design Oct. 27-28, 2017
The first annual Impact Design Summit will take place at the National Building Museum in Washington, DC, October 27-28, 2017. Impact Design Summit: The Practice of Impact Design will focus on how to practice impact design sustainably and responsibly in today’s world, considering staffing, funding, the communication of value, accountability, the distribution of knowledge, and industry best practices through workshops and panel discussions. The summit will kick off with two special events that focus on how design can change the world. On October 27, Design Night DC will combine robotics activities, food, drinks, and music for a kick-off party at the National Building Museum. On Saturday, the Impact Design Summit will host a dozen top-notch speakers to dive into the specifics of social impact design. The summit is organized by the School of Architecture + Design at Virginia Tech, and speakers hail from MASS Design Group, Autodesk, MIT D-Lab, and Studio Gang.
The Practice of Impact Design was developed through collaboration between the Virginia Tech School of Architecture + Design, Center for Design Research, and the Autodesk Foundation, with support from the National Building Museum. Learn more here and register now for both events. Space is limited.
