The Fun Palace 023: Marika Shioiri-Clark

November 9, 2017

Marika Shioiri-Clark is a designer working on the vanguard of public interest. She’s based in Cleveland and maintains an integrated focus working both locally with development projects in her own neighborhood, but also globally with consulting gigs in Africa, and beyond. Marika has an impressive resume — including stops at Public Architecture, IDEO.org, Harvard Graduate School of Design, MASS Design Group — but she projects a great deal of humility and practicality when talking about the rapidly evolving field of design in the 21st century. I’ll note, this is the first fun palace episode not done in-person so the audio quality suffered a little bit but the content more than makes up for it. Enjoy!
